National Academy of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine Workshop
Informing Environmental Health Decisions Through Data Integration
Washington, DC and webcast
February 20-21, 2018

Integrating large quantities of data from multiple, disparate sources can create new opportunities to understand complex environmental health questions. However, combining new types and larger quantities of data to inform a specific decision presents many new challenges. For example, investigators must develop methods to reliably integrate data from designed experiments with data re-purposed from other uses, such as electronic health records, geo-spatial data sets, and crowd-based sources. Join scientists, policymakers, risk assessors and regulators at a free National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine workshop on February 20-21 to explore the promise and potential pitfalls of environmental health data integration. Held in Washington, DC and webcast live, this workshop will present a general framework for data visualization and participants will work together to conceptualize future research directions that could help incorporate these analyses into environmental health decision-making.

Sponsored by NIEHS and organized by the Emerging Science for Environmental Health Decisions committee, this workshop is part of a series that bring together participants from government, industry, nongovernmental organizations, and the academic community to explore the potential for new methods and approaches to advance our understanding of environmental impacts on human health. For more information (including the workshop agenda) and to register to attend, please visit:

Impacts of Global Change on Pest Emergence Risks for Plant Health in Europe

9th International Conference on the Science of Exposure Assessment
Manchester, UK
September, 24-26, 2018
X2018 will provide a platform for international experts to exchange knowledge in exposure assessment sciences for human health studies. X2018 will contribute to the development of state-of-the-art methodologies and practices, and thereby improve our knowledge to effectively assess and control exposure to hazardous agents in the work environment, at home and elsewhere in the general environment.
